Saskatoon Blossoms

We took this photo a few houses down the block from our own home. These are saskatoon blossoms that are randomly found on the mountain slopes. Saskatoons are a form of eatable wild berry which actually make a very tasty pie. They can also be frozen or preserved as a winter fruit.

Nice little flowering saskatoon. I didn't know this and will be looking for them next time I'm in the Pacific Northwest!
