It's blackberry season at the local Farmer's Market. This rather expensive soft fruit is alleged to contain polyphenol antioxidants and is eaten raw or used in desserts, jams and seedless jellies as seen in the foreground.
They are simply the most delicious berry on earth. I don't know what the commercial varieties are like but the wild ones are spectacular, an experience not to be missed.
I still remember the taste of the blackberries we picked with my friends in the mountains several years ago and made pasta with these berries and cream on top. Soooo delicious! Yummy! These on your photo look great as well.

Those blackberries look huge. Blackberry is a prickly, annoying weed around here. I won't eat them in principle.

Wow, ours are shriveled on the vine by now. They make the best jam for toast on a cold wintry day.
