Kelowna has many developments such as this where the people own their own homes but their yard work is kept up by what is known as a Condominium Association. This association could be run by the residents themselves or by paid professionals. Each household contributes proportionate costs towards the outside upkeep, street cleaning and maintenance, security, etc

Nice but to me also sad---to sequester yourself away from the outside world. Here I guess they are called gated communities. The same really. MB
I'm so baffled by these.
What's the wall for - wouldn't a fence do just as well?It does seem rather a barrier, and it must spoil the view of the houses on the perimeter.
