While we were showing you photos of the southern part of Okanagan our Province has been experiencing record breaking heat with the accompanying dryness. Consequently, as expected we are dealing with a number of aggressive forest fires. Although we ourselves do not appear to be in danger, at least not in the immediate future, our valley is plagued by smoke. The two submissions represent the before and current view taken from our deck.We are having guests arriving this evening who we expect shall be with us until mid month. As we are keen on spending quality time with our company, we shall be signing off for a period with this writing.

We usually are plagued with forest fires during the summer, but this year we've had a lot of rain and thus few fires.
I feel for you. That's not fun. And the smell is bad enough. The smoke does make for interesting photos, though.

Well enjoy your company and the rest of summer. I hope the fires are cleaned up and you have no more. I will do a rain dance---we are so hot and dry too but it is gradually cooling down--We need RAIN!! MB
Quite a difference in air quality, to say nothing of the damage being caused to property and land.
But all the same, the view from your deck is beautiful - I would spend the whole day there.

Summer is over. We finally got rain in October and now it is November and we are having too much rain.
