Kelowna Airport Runway Expansion



An $8 million 1,600 foot additional expansion of the runway at the Kelowna International Airport is now complete. An Official opening took place yesterday when a DC10-30F aircraft, being the largest plane to ever land in Kelowna christened the runway in front of hundreds of exuberant spectators

Will this bring in more ski business? The UK newspaper 'The Independent' carried a report yesterday about 'the secret slopes of British Columbia', all about the delights of Big White and the remarkable Okanagan climate. I had a look for it on-line, but it hasn't made it to the on-line version of the paper unfortunately.
